Peristaltic metering pumps provide the most reliable means for injection of disinfectants such as chlorine to maintain biologically safe water in a water supply. Sodium hypochlorite is the most popular form of chlorine used for disinfection of private water systems. It is easy to test for and maintain a residual level throughout the plumbing system and is relatively inexpensive. Sodium hypochlorite can be used full strength or diluted with soft water to make a solution of suitable strength for maintaining the proper level of chlorine.
Stenner's peristaltic adjustable pump can be wired to the well pump pressure switch so that both pumps operate simultaneously for continuous chlorination. A dry contact water meter is used to activate the pump for proportional chemical feed. Stenner's proportional metering system provides repeatable dosages based on water volume regardless of system flow rate and consists of a Stenner fixed output pump, PCM, and water meter. The PCM system is now available on a pre-assembled panel called the Proportional Injection System that conveniently mounts to the wall for timely installation and equipment accessibility.
