Animal Health
The agricultural market requires potable drinking water for livestock. Disinfection and pH adjustment of well water and municipal water is a common practice.
Chemical treatment has traditionally been achieved through a water driven proportioner usually referred to as a medicator where the solution is made up of diluted chemical. With Stenner’s peristaltic pumps, the chemical can be injected undiluted at low dosages with accuracy. The simplest and most economical way to treat well water is at the well head with an adjustable pump. Click here to view typical well head application.
Many times the well water is also used for cooling and/or residential drinking where a chemical treatment program is not desired. This requires isolation of the livestock drinker lines; the pump is activated by a dry contacting water meter as shown on the left. Click here for information on the Seametrics meter and a time adjusted controller. The meter and controller provides proportional injection of chemicals with flow rates that vary. An example is in a poultry house where water consumption varies and is increasing in volume each day. The pump, controller and meter combination is also sold as a pre-assembled system.

For traditional injection of stock solutions including diluted chemicals, antibiotics, medicines and electrolytes the M128 is available to inject at the common ratio of 1:128.
