Coagulation

Peristaltic metering pumps provide a reliable means for injection of solutions used for the process of coagulation or flocculation. These processes remove dirt and other particles suspended in water that typically can not be filtered or settled out as sediment. Liquid alum, ferric chloride, synthetic organic polymers, and other chemicals are added to water to form tiny sticky particles known as "floc", which attract the other dirt particles. The combined weight of the dirt and the floc then become large enough to filter or heavy enough to sink as sediment removing them from the water.

Our Customers Say…
“We use the Stenner variable speed pump (SVP) to feed polymer to river water (used for drinking water) to settle out solids for easier removal. The other brand we were using did not work well with this polymer. When we experience trouble receiving the 4-20mA signal from another source, it is easy to switch the SVP from automatic to manual and back again. As the quality control coordinator, I am not usually involved with installation, but this pump was simple to set up.”

Stenner's peristaltic adjustable pump can be wired to a well pump pressure switch, circulation pump or control panel so that both pumps operate simultaneously for continuous injection in these applications. More commonly today, a dry contact water meter is used to activate the pump for proportional chemical feed or if a pump controls circuit is unavailable or impractical. Stenner's proportional metering system provides repeatable dosages based on water volume regardless of system flow rate. The proportional system consists of a Stenner fixed output pump, PCM, and water meter. Stenner’s variable speed pump accept a 4-20mA signal to pace the pump making them ideal for the industrial user and municipal water treatment & waste water treatment plants.

There are several different Stenner models that provide a broad range of outputs for various water systems, from the smallest domestic application to larger institutional, industrial and small municipal systems. Stenner Pump Company also offers a tank system consisting of a metering pump and solution tank that is shipped pre-assembled for easy installation.
