Peristaltic metering pumps provide a reliable means for injection of solutions that help to prevent corrosion and formation of scale on plumbing, pipes, fixtures, and equipment in a water supply or system. Polyphosphate is the most popular solution used for corrosion and scale control of water systems. It is easy to use and can maintain a residual level throughout the system that will aid in preventing corrosion and the formation of scale. Polyphosphate can be used full strength or diluted with soft water to make a solution of suitable strength for corrosion control.
Stenner's peristaltic adjustable pump can be wired to a well pump pressure switch, circulation pump or control panel so that both pumps operate simultaneously for continuous polyphosphate injection in these applications. More commonly today, a dry contact water meter is used to activate the pump for proportional chemical feed or if a pump controls circuit is unavailable or impractical. Stenner's proportional metering system provides repeatable dosages based on water volume regardless of system flow rate. The proportional system consists of a Stenner fixed output pump, PCM, and water meter. Stenner’s variable speed pump accepts a 4-20mA signal to pace the pump making them ideal for the industrial user and municipal water treatment plants.
There are several different Stenner models that provide a broad range of outputs for various water systems, from the smallest domestic application to larger institutional and small municipal systems. Stenner Pump Company also offers a tank system consisting of a metering pump and solution tank that is shipped pre-assembled for easy installation.
