Oxidation of Iron

Peristaltic metering pumps provide the most reliable means for injecting chemicals to oxidize iron for removal by filtration after adequate contact time in a properly sized retention tank. Common oxidizers such as sodium hypochlorite (liquid bleach), hydrogen peroxide and potassium permanganate can be accurately metered to oxidize soluble ferrous iron into its ferric state for removal by filtration. Iron removal is often necessary to reduce staining and eliminate deposits that can clog pipes and reduce flow rates.

Our Customers Say…
“We use the Stenner BDF for high iron applications because the time setting capabilities allow better chemical feed control. The BDF is simple to install, works well, and we haven’t had any problems with it. Stenner has provided good technical support. Recently, their training vehicle (STV) traveled to our facility to train our staff, which was helpful, as well as, convenient.”
- Jerry Corle, Jr., Culligan Water Conditioning, Altoona, PA

Stenner’s peristaltic adjustable pump can be wired to a well pump pressure switch and metered accordingly for accurate chemical feed. In many municipal and industrial installations fixed output pumps are often wired to an ORP controller. For precise accuracy in chemical delivery the Stenner PCM system feeds accurate dosages based on water volume regardless of the system flow rate. The PCM package consists of a water meter, a fixed output pump and the PCM (Pump Control Module).

There is a variety of Stenner models to choose from that provide a wide range of outputs for various water systems. The Stenner Pump Company also offers a tank system consisting of a metering pump and solution tank that is shipped pre-assembled for a quick and easy installation.
