Peristaltic metering pumps provide the most reliable means for injecting chemicals to oxidize hydrogen sulfide for removal by means of filtration after adequate contact time in a retention tank.
Common oxidizers such as sodium hypochlorite, hydrogen peroxide and potassium permanganate can be accurately metered to convert the hydrogen sulfide from its gas form into elemental sulfur. In its elemental state, the sulfur is an insoluble powder removed by filtration. Sulfur removal is often necessary to reduce its corrosive properties as well as its unpleasant “rotten egg” odor.
Stenner’s peristaltic adjustable pump can be wired to a well pump pressure switch and metered accordingly for accurate chemical feed. In some installations fixed output pumps are often wired to an ORP controller. For precise accuracy in chemical delivery the Stenner PCM system feeds accurate dosages based on water volume regardless of the system flow rate. The PCM package consists of a water meter, a fixed output pump and the PCM (Pump Control Module).
There is a variety of Stenner models to choose from that provide a wide range of outputs for water treatment systems. The Stenner Pump Company also offers a pre-assembled tank system consisting of a metering pump and solution tank.
