Water Conditioning – Private Wells

Sources of private water supplies usually require treatment of the incoming water to provide biologically safe drinking water. In addition, private water supplies can contain excessive levels of iron, hydrogen sulfide and manganese which can cause unpleasant odors and staining. pH Adjustment may also be needed to prevent corrosion and pitting of piping and appliances. Stenner Peristaltic Metering Pumps are used around the world to inject sodium hypochlorite (chlorine) to prevent water borne diseases such as cholera, typhoid and dysentery. Stenner feeders are also used to meter solutions such as hydrogen peroxide or sodium hypochlorite for oxidation of iron, manganese, and hydrogen sulfide to prevent staining of appliances, fouling of filters/media, and rotten egg odor. Additional applications include injection of sodium carbonate for pH control and polyphosphates for corrosion control.
